Welcome, dear reader, this is our class blog!
We created it in our English classes with the supervision of our teacher, Diva Figueiredo. Why? Well, we wanted to use English and make something constructive out of our learning. Being the Net one of the places where we most hang out, we wanted to be in it, as a class, in a creative way. This way, we will post whatever our lessons inspire us to post.
Hope you enjoy your reading.
Class compliments!

Last night I had a lovely dream,
But strange as it could be,
For on the hill beside our house
Stood a great Christmas tree.
It glowed with lighted candles,
High at the top, a star,
And ‘round it, dancing in a ring,
Children from lands afar.
There were polite,
little English girls,
Swiss boys with funny skis,
Dutch children in queer wooden shoes,
Joined hands with shy Chinese.
Turkish lads is tassled fez, Tots from France and Greece and Poland,
Hey there, this is for those who like rock and guitar covers... Check this videos out of an amazing girl that know's how to play the guitar really well...
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun Now the jingle hop has begun Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square In the frosty air. What a bright time, it's the right time To rock the night away Jingle bell time is a swell time To go gliding in a one-horse sleigh Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet Jingle around the clock Mix and a-mingle in the jingling feet That's the jingle bell, That's the jingle bell, That's the jingle bell rock.
MUSIC Last Christmas Last christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special
Once bitten and twice shy I keep my distance ut you still catch my eye Tell me baby, do you recognize me? Well, It's been a year It doesn't surprise me
Happy Christmas I wrapped it up and sent it With a note saying I love you, I meant it Now I know what a fool I've been But if you kissed me now I know you'd fool me again
Last christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special
A crowded room. Friends with tired eyes I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice My God I thought you were someone to rely on Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on
A face on a lover with a fire in his heart A man under cover but you tore me apart Now I've found a real love you'll never fool me again
Last christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special
Last christmas I gave you my heart But the very next day you gave it away This year to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special
A film we're going to see in class. Spanglish _ a mix of Spanish and English. What can happen when you start working in a place and you don't speak the local language? Strange, at the very least... How will Flor, the Mexican woman who decided ti try her luck in America, solve this serious problem?
Not to be missed!
Enjoy:)
something good that happens to you by chance. Phil was driving up to Manchester that evening and gave me a lift so that was a stroke of luck. By a stroke of luck, someone at work happened to be selling very cheaply exactly the piece of equipment that I needed.
Music is the only language in which you cannot say a mean or sarcastic thing. John Erskine US author & educator (1879 - 1951)
That's so right, isn't it? In fact, music is much deeper than anything you can say or think. It touches your soul, it embraces you in a sweet caress, sometimes in a turmoil of ideas and thoughts, sometimes it brings you happiness, other times sorrow and melancholy, but most of the times it has an almost sacred, healing power. Here's a challenge for you: define music. If you can...

"All I Want For Christmas Is You"
I don't want a lot for Christmas There's just one thing I need I don't care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is... You
I don't want a lot for Christmas There's just one thing I need I don't care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree I don't need to hang my stocking There upon the fireplace Santa Claus won't make me happy With a toy on Christmas day I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you You baby
I won't ask for much this Christmas I don't even wish for snow I'm just gonna keep on waiting Underneath the mistletoe I won't make a list and send it To the North Pole for Saint Nick I won't even stay awake to Hear those magic reindeers click 'Cause I just want you here tonight Holding on to me so tight What more can I do Baby all I want for Christmas is you Ooh baby All the lights are shining So brightly everywhere And the sound of children's Laughter fills the air And everyone is singing I hear those sleigh bells ringing Santa won't you bring me the one I really need Won't you please bring my baby to me...
Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas This is all I'm asking for I just want to see my baby Standing right outside my door Oh I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true Baby all I want for Christmas is... You

Hi there! My name’s Susana and I’m a fourteen year-old girl, I also live in Portugal. I really like to write in English and making new friends, that’s why I’m writing this letter to you. Now I’m going to talk a little bit more about me. I love music and my favourite singer is Robbie Williams and my favourite band is the Scorpions (I know they are old, but what can I say, it was love at first sting!), I like to watch the telly, sleep, eat and like I said before write. Writing is very important to me, I usually write in English, I don’t usually show what I write, for me some of the texts are like pages from a diary, that no one can read, they’re too personal but sometimes I feel that I want to scream to the world how I am, how I feel (contradictions, some of my friends say I’m a complicated girl and I think it’s true), another reason to write in English is improving mi skills and learning new words (once in a while, when I don’t have nothing to do, I put a couple of letters in the dictionary and go down the list of words, and see if there is a good word to put in my poems, you must think that I’m crazy or something like that), I also translate lyrics and other texts. English is very important because it is a global language and it may be a useful tool to work, I also have the dream one day living in a foreign country like England, I also have the love for this language, I like it so much! God bless the people that made English an international language! I have another interests like learning to play the guitar (I’m not learning yet, but the day is so close that I’m “thrilled” about it, it’s one of my biggest dreams), I’ve always wanted to listen to Scorpions my desire to learn how to play the guitar has increased a lot, I can’t think about another thing now. You must be asleep by now, so goodbye and I’m waiting for your answer.
